Tis the season for pumpkin everything and pecan pies. So I did my own take on the festive favorites for my friend Julie when she said she needed some awesome desserts for a birthday party. Julie thought mini-cupcakes would be ideal for the party, so I made pumpkin cupcakes with cheescake frosting topped with homemade caramel sprinkles. And the guest of honor loves nut desserts, so we went with a toasted mixed nut caramel tart (walnuts, almonds and pecans to be exact).
Luckily I was able to grab some of the rejects cupcakes for my own enjoyment, as for the nut tart, I guess I'll just have to make another one to know how good it tastes! Oh, and Julie said the party was a blast and there wasn't a crumb left when it came to dessert.
